We arrived at Villa Farinella late and very tired. The gates opened and we saw an old villa in the countryside and were so happy as we entered. It is just what you expect an old, simple family villa to be-- high ceilings, huge rooms, hand painted walls.
Our room was the "suite" which is one very large bedroom with arched ceilings and gorgeous trompe de l'oeil in pink and taupe. It has a big bed, a lounging couch, and other pieces of furniture. There is a very big window with a view of the countryside. The bathroom is simple but nice-- beautiful old tile, a big tub, and big window. (my husband actually did some major birding from this window and got two life-birds just looking out from the room!)
Breakfast is in the living room and is simple but friendly and very personal. They keep lemon cello and italian cookies out for guests to enjoy any time. They give you bottled water and offer a small 'fridge for guests. We were going to the "wild...
