We spent 10 days with Wendy and David (and assorted rotating other guests) in this charming “en famille” B & B atmosphere. As previous reviewers have noted, the hosts are very accommodating and go above and beyond to be helpful and to ensure your comfort and enjoyment, and the breakfasts offer a wide selection in the buffet plus a daily hot dish, specialty of chef David. It was a treat to get acquainted with our hosts and, during our extended stay, we had time to relax, enjoy the home (we had read David’s book “Garden in Sarlat” beforehand), soak in the deep soaking tub, and play board games with Wendy and David. I will add a note for those who, like me, have some limitations in mobility. While for brisk walkers, it may take five minutes to reach the heart of the old town, for someone like me, using walking poles, it took about 15 minutes. So, if you have mobility limitations and your intention in visiting Sarlat is to see and experience the old town, you might want to consider staying right in the heart. However, if, like us, you are basing here to see other sites in the Dordogne (prehistoric cave art, chateaux, etc.), then a major advantage of a stay at Le Jardin is being able to park your car right in front and conveniently take off for your day’s adventures. This was a definite plus for us! We were able to enjoy the charming town of Sarlat AND the surrounding area. There are four rooms. We stayed in the Beynac room, a spacious room on the first floor (European for what Americans call the second floor). We had a peek into the Castelnaud room, also on the first floor, and even more spacious. These rooms are nicely arranged and well-appointed, with space to unpack your suitcases completely, organize toiletries (ours had a nice table surface in the bathroom), connect chargers. There was good lighting and a very comfortable bed, not always to be taken for granted! Highly recommend!…
