A pleasant 2-star Inn standing on the N20 a few minutes from Souillac in the Dordogne. The new manager, Denis, has been with the hotel some time and speaks excellent English (having trained in Boston, Lincs!). A nice bar and dining area leads onto a sun terrace and an attractive pool.
The rooms are simple and not the largest, though if you can get a room overlooking the pool they are better. Cuisine is good, and though the wine list is largely Cahors wines, excellent carafes are available.
In Payrac there is not a great deal, though it is pretty. A small supermarket 50m away, and that's about it, but as a base for touring, Sarlat, Domme, and Rocamadour are all easily accessible.
This is a place to unwind, perhaps by the pool, after a good day's exploring. It is certainly no more than 2-star, but is reasonably priced, and worth a look. more
