We chose this hotel based on its location - outside the city center and central for battlefield sightseeing in the Marne, Argonne and Verdun areas. We were charmed by the website, and appreciated the welcoming atmosphere. However, we hadn't realized we would essentially be in a motel located in what was essentially a commercial park. Our room on the front side of the hotel was noisy (there was a lot of road work and light industrial work going on) and bright (until we discovered the second day that there were shutters that could be closed). We arrived late on a Sunday and there was nothing nearby open for dinner. We were too tired to navigate into town and really not up to a big meal, so we made do with our leftovers from a lunchtime picnic.

The hotel breakfast and reception rooms are cozy and comfortable and the breakfast selection was outstanding. We were in walking distance from a hypermarket (forget which one) so we were able to pick up picnicking supplies each... more
