At first you may think this may a rundown faded glory hotel and that it is the reason it is cheap (40-50 eur). However, beyond the outdated hallways are rooms that are clean, largely renovated, and serve their purpose well. This hotel is made to sleep and have breakfast. No other amenities present. We did not try dinner. Room windows open to the street. Breakfast is basic but all you need before you go kayaking for a day. Notably, many people who slept elsewhere flocked to this hotel for breakfast. It is not open yearround, closed for the winter where they renovate. Owners are charming and helpful. Would recommend for travelers who a more interested in the region and the outdoors and just needing a place to sleep. Of course the real diehards will go the Gites at Hautrives that can only be reached by boat or on foot. more
