Positives: Great location, <100m to the lift. The chef Mark does great restaurant standard food. Claire & her team (Sam & Andy esp.) are very friendly, fun and accomodating - nothing is too much trouble. The only negative is that some of the accomodation is a little tight, and you may have to share a toilet. Great location for kids,... More

We had a great couple of nights with Clare and her team at Lou Rider last month; the atmosphere is relaxed and very friendly, the food was really good - both value and quality and quantity - and the situation is fantastic, right by the lifts at Espiaube. The room was basic but acceptable - one suggestion: brighter lighting would... More

Stayed here this month with husband and teenage son and would thoroughly recommend for all who are coming for a ski or walking holiday. Situation - couldn't be better sited for access to slopes (and I would imagine as starting point for mountain walks). Ambiance - very welcoming, log fire, big table for meeting new friends at mealtimes, well-stocked bar.... More

The area surrounding St. Lary Soulan during the summertime has so much going for it - paragliding, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, thermal baths or simply relaxing in the stunning surroundings. Chalet Lou Rider is comfortable and cosy with a friendly atmosphere and excellent food. Looking forward to coming back in the winter for the skiing! More

This is an ideal get away from busy city life with everything you need to just relax and have a good time. It's situated in a beautiful location over looking mountains and trees and also right next to a ski resort, perfect for the winter months. My stay was in June so no skiing for me but plenty of other... More

This is an informal, comfortable chalet-style hotel where you are made to feel very welcome. A restaurant/bar area complete with open fire provides an excellent apres-ski space. The bedrooms are basic but adequate with ensuite facilities in most rooms (I believe - there was in ours). Breakfast is continental style but with added porridge! The evening meal is 3 courses,... Yesterday we returned from our third visit to chalet Lou Rider so we thought that now we could offer a review. First of all the location is fantastic, peace and quiet, yet within a very short walk (2mins.) to the ski lift, the free mountain bus and right next door to a ski equipment hire place where you get a 15%... We stayed here for four nights in early January and couldn't really fault it. Rooms are pretty basic but clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. Our room - 8 I think - had a lovely view down the mountain too. There's WiFi throughout, which we found very handy. Other big pluses are the warmth of the welcome - Claire... More

We spent 5 nights including an excellent New Year's Eve at the Lou Rider and enjoyed it immensely. The owner and all her staff were extermely freindly and would do anything for us. The position is superb - 100m from the telecabine at 2400 and you can practically ski to the front door. Although you are out of resort, it... More
