My wife and I stayed at Le Mouton Blanc for the weekend as we wanted a centrally located hotel and were hooked by the positive review about this hotel's restaurant. We both love French cuisine and we weren't disappointed. We chose to eat in the lovely dining room on both nights and the food and service are excellent.

Unfortunately the hotel doesn't match its restaurant for quality or value for money. While the hotel is well located, its rooms are very dated and lack basic conveniences such as a hair dryer. Though my French is excellent I didn't understand the menu that the lovely hotel manager rattled off, but it turned out to be: an exquisitely delicious shellfish bisque with accents of vermicelli-thin slices of sweet carrot and onion, a pot-au-feu of beef, served with perfectly prepared root vegetables and a sauce that I think was demiglace that had been monte-au-beurre, then had a spoon of cream and paprika stirred in (it was amazing, I sopped up every single bit of it... more
