This hotel is on the D112 just near the centre of Alencon - if you are approaching from the motorway to the north, you will probably come straight in to town on this road.
The hotel has an imposing facade and is built in an old-fashioned French style. The rooms have obviously been converted over the years to conform to every new standard - the bathrooms must have been done quite recently because they look quite new and are very clean. The rooms are basic but clean - I would hope the carpets would be replaced soon, but the beds were very comfortable.
The dining experience is a cut above the rest of the hotel, however. The ingredients are obviously fresh, the cuisine is interesting and the service is friendly and helpful.
If you prefer a more genuine "French experience" when you stay somewhere than the chain hotels can offer, then this is a good place but I can see that some might prefer the streamlined efficiency of more American-style hotels. I...
