Everyone needs to spend a night on Mont Saint Michel and the Auberge Saint Pierre is a good place to stay. Four of us shared the "family room" and found it provided us with what we were looking for, although the winding staircase to the upper bed room is very small. Anyone larger than a medium-sized man will have difficulty... more

The Auberge St. Pierre is a charming hotel not too far from the main gate (a consideration even if you’re traveling light). Our comfortable room (#103) was surprisingly large for an old building, and was tastefully decorated. It had a king bed, desk, night stands, small built-in closet, and an attractive bathroom with fair counter space (shower only). There was... more

The main Hotel was full and we were put in one of their rooms in the town. Couldn't have worked out better for us! Our room (423), though fairly basic, but fine, had its own private, quiet , medieval looking courtyard opening off it. Yes, there were steps to get to it. But if you go to the Mont you... more

From research and reading reviews here I knew not to expect a lot from the hotel. When we booked the reply was in English warning us there were a lot of stairs but we did have a private terrace. Accessing the hotels parking was no problem as we were given the access code by the parking attendant. We were taken... more

I was looking forward very much to stay in a very romantic hotel room with a large double-bed as it is advertised by the hotel and thought that the 100 Euro would be worth it even though it is a lot of money to pay for only 1 night. When arriving in the hotel the receptionist explained to us that... more

We stayed on MSM as my husband had visited MSM as a schoolboy many years ago.We took the train from Rennes to Pontorson and then got the bus (a regular frequent service) to the MSM.The crowds were what you expect at a top site in the middle of summer. The hotel reception was good and we were delighted with our rooms,our... more

We visited the MSM with my parents, my brother and his partner and my girlfriend. The first thing about this hotel we must say that everything was clean. The service was French. The rooms where basic and don't have any special notable features. Basic. The good thing about the hotel is that you get to stay when the tourist leave... more

It was an amazing experience staying on Mont St. Michel after the crowds left. We were able to explore the town and the ramparts which are terribly "touristy" and crowded during the day. In fact, I cannot imagine enjoying MSM unless we had this time late in the evening and early in the morning---crowds began arriving by 10:00 am. Auberge... more

The crowd of people squeezed into the narrow Grand Rue of Mont-St-Michel on the afternoon of our arrival was overwhelming. I had an immediate desire to turn around and leave as fast as I could. We had just been in London and Paris, so I was well accustomed to tourist crowds. This was beyond that. Every first time visitor to... more

I agree with most of the reviewers here- abit disappointing. Mont st michel appears to have lost its meditative and contemplative atmosphere- as it is overfraught with tourists and souvenior shops. This is true too for this auberge st pierre which is i agree no more than a backpackers. I suppose it was consistent with the theme of the abbey-... more
