I live in Germany and travel to and from the UK. I have stayed in Dover before, this time due to Eurotunnel availability it was Calais. The hotel staff were friendly on arrival. The room was very simple. The bathroom included a hairdryer. There was on English TV channel, CNN. The hotel is in the centre of Calais, which is much nicer than Dover! We ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was very good, the waitress was the best I have ever encountered anywhere in the world. Continental breakfast was a overpriced and not very good. For an extra couple of Euro I would go for the egg and bacon option. You wouldn't visit this place for your summer hols, but for an overnight it is much better than Dover and cheaper. more
