We booked this hotel instead of a bb hotel or Camponile hotel with the thought that it woudl be good to find a better quality motorway stop over that than the Calais bb-hotel or Camponile - the Cottage is about 20euros more per night.. cost us 63 Euros Our first impression was that the hotel is badly in need of... more

Excellent value for money, clean, good food, comfortable beds and very convenient for the channel tunnel. Experience partly spoiled by fellow guests arguing in the corridors and banging doors until the wee hours. Not the hotels fault, but I suspect it attracts people on boozy weekends (we stayed a Friday night) so perhaps not unpredictable. more

Easy to find with signposts, decent rooms and free parking. Staff very friendly and made us rolls to eat with our drinks as my son didnt fancy the menu as was his first time in France and is fussy, but it was very popular and busy . Would stay again if I was back in the area. Highly recommended. more

so convenient for the channel tunnel, we have stayed at the cottage hotel many times. it continues to provide acceptable accommodation for an overnight stop at a reasonable price and the restaurant is also very good value- for -money ( make sure you book a table on arrival as it does tend to fill up quickly) not in an attractive... more

My son and I stayed at the Cottage Hotel for a long weekend, Oct last year, for a visit to my Grandfathers grave, (War Grave), it was a great choise and we had a fantastic time. The staff were brilliant and the food very good, but most of all the Hotel was very, very clean. It is only a 2star,... more

27th August 2007 Hotel basic but clean. Wooden floor in bedroom very noisy. Road noise very bad. Lighting in landing not very good. You could hear every little noise outside in the corridor especially kids running up and down shouting. more

When I first saw the hotel, i was very dissapointed. There where 4 single beds in our family room all with brown bedspreads which looked like they came from the 60's. The toilet and shower room had a lovely brown tinge and the loo seat was cracked. The hotel is situated on abusy road, is next to the local football... more

After reading some of the reviews before we went, we were a little apprehensive as to what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. We requested a quiet room and were given an end room. Food in restaurant was excellent and extremely good value. OK the rooms were basic and a little on the small side but we got 3 nights... more

My husband and I always stay here on weekend breaks and booze cruises to Calais. The hotel is cheap and very conveniently located for both the tunnel and ferries. The staff are helpful and everything is clean - towels etc are changed daily. The food is actually very good value for money. Perhaps not as good as going out to... more

The Cottage Hotel was excellent value and the restaurant proved to be good. This place has a feel of a student accomodation block and could do with some updating. The bathrooms were OK but again could do with replacing. Staff at reception were helpful and warned us of some roadworks that could have confused us on the way to the... more
