Great place, if you book on the accor website on the net you can stay here for EUR 60 which is the same as an Ibis. You get a really nice modern room, nicely done. BBC TV and a little minibar. The room was a reasonable size and well equipped. It is easy to park close by and there are a number of good restaurants within a short walk. Arrived after midnight, which was one of the reasons for choosing the hotel as they have a night porter, who was very efficient and helpful. We did know this hotel was being refurbished before we went. The new plasterboard walls and dust covers in the public areas were a bit off putting, to begin with, but the room was very good, everything was new. We have happily stayed at the George V many times and were looking forward to the refurb. Our room was absolutely freezing and we got into bed with our jumpers on. The only heater was a clapped out air conditioning unit high up on the wall which was so noisy we had to switch it off in the early hours.... more

We stayed here for our last night prior to Chunnel. Able to park outside whilst checking in (we were unaware of the hotel parking at rear) Very pleasant staff. Enjoyed dinner at hotel- the 27 euro menu We chose- crab and apple starter with citrus dressing - delicious. Beautifully grilled steak - shame about the "crisps" to accompany this dish.... more
