This hotel was extremely shabby, the room was tiny, the washbasin had a crack in it through which water dripped onto the floor, breakfast was minimal.
Proprietor is a real "piece of work". Quoted me Euro 48 on the phone for a twin room then billed me Euro 67. Also charged me Euro 3.5 for parking my bike! Very shabby hotel despite good location but the very worst french opportunist, shoulder shrugging attitude. Don't stay at the Univers if you have any other option,
I have just returned from a night in L' Univers. The hotel is in a magnificent location as its right in the centre of Châtellerault.
