Stayed with a group in mid-March 09. As there were 4 of us in one room we had a larger room with a balcony. The bathrooms (separate shower room and toilet - useful for a group) had clearly been newly put in and were excellent. Food in the evenings was of good standard - a little repetitive towards the end... more

We must have been there at the same time as the previous reviewer but maybe we paid less and had lower expectations! Our room wasn't ready either but we had a good time waiting by soaking up the atmosphere in the bar watching Liverpool beat man Utd - and no apparent Mau U fans around. The room was better than... more

Really disappointed. Arrived on early flight from the UK and our room was not ready, but staff were standing around outside chatting! When we were given a room several hours later, the corridor was covered in rubbish which we had to negotiate to get to our room. The room its self was basic, decent enough toilet and bathroom but that... more

Our rep, Dan, gave us the rundown of the resort on the coach enroute to our hotel, its our 2nd visit here so we knew pretty much anyway but it was good to get a few extra reminders anyway. The Brunerie is fairly centrally located on the main street overlooking the lower part of ski resort, very picturesque but noisy... more

Food was good, location was central, rooms were mediocre, showers ok, cleanish... but had an issue with warm air blower heater thing (was useless and kept telling them, wud have been quicker to call the Marx Brothers) !! Anyway, got a portable electric heater by day 4 which helped, obviously very cold as its winter and was in the Alps... more

We've stayed in a lot of dodgy hotels over the years, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that La Brunerie wasn't as bad as some of the previous reviewers have said. I thought the standard of food was great (duck, steak, tuna steaks etc) and the fact that you had a choice was even better. OK breakfast always seemed... more

Management response from
CrystalSki, Tour operator

The public areas in the Club Hotel La Brunerie are being refurbished, and new carpet fitted, for the winter 09/10 season. Most bedrooms are being redecorated and all will now be fitted with Sky and UK T. V. channels.

Stayed at La Brunerie for a ski trip in Feb 2009. Hotel is in a good central location around 100 meters walk to the small chair lift L'Alpette where you can ski down to the main Jandri lifts or around to the Pied Moutet area. The Jandri lifts are around a 250 meter walk. The hotel has a good boot... more

My husband, our teenage son & two toddlers have just returned from Club Hotel Le Brunerie with Crystal. We were more than apprehensive following negative reviews we'd read of recent guests. Many of the comments were true - the jacuzzi is still broken, the pool is still freezing and the carpets are still stained. But the staff ARE friendly (and... more

If you can avoid booking with Crystal do. We were assured by our rep on the bus to the resort that Crystal prices for ski hire, lessons, etc were the best in the resort. This is not true. We were charged €30 more for ski hire than another member of our party who booked directly with the same ski hire... more

My husband and I have just returned from a week with Thompson (Crystal) in Les Deux Alpes and the Brunerie Hotel. We read all the reviews on here for a balanced idea of what to expect before we left. We were please with what we experienced. Hotel Accommodation: As others have said - you get what you pay for. This... more
