I was a bit reluctant to book a stay at a chalethotel for our annual winter skiing holiday, having used chalets previously. However, the experience was better than expected and in some respects exceeded those experiences of a chalet holiday. The clients at the Hauts Toviere were not a rowdy apres-ski bunch, but were very restrained, family oriented. If you are looking for a mad apres-ski bunch - try elsewhere.

The hotel is owned and run by Mark Warner. The staff were friendly and helpful - most are the obvious student types - but all were English which made communication about any trips, help or problems so much easier.

The access to the slopes down to chair lifts are within a few metres of the hotel. On return, a gentle green run brings you to within 20 metres of the hotel.There is not a very large room to store ski equipment, so skis are stored in a communal (but secure) room, but boots were kept in your bedroom.
