Beware of personal reviews unless you know the sender. I chose the Balladins, Tournon over a hotel in Albertville , following a poor review of the town centre hotel. Be warned that it is only suitable for those with their own transport. For myself it was 1hour 15mins walk into town , or a taxi.
The motel itself is ok for the price although there is no bar or drinks machine(Hotel?) . The staff will ask you to pay upfront , including the optional breakfast. On the night before I left , I asked the receptionist if he could get me a taxi the next morning. The following morning the staff failed to appear leaving me without breakfast (albeit cornflakes and a roll) or a refund or indeed any way of getting taxi , with the shutters all locked down.
Moral ... beware of Bastille Day sleep-ins and don't pay in advance.
