With direct access to the ski trails and a connection to the 3 vallées ski domain, Val Thorens is a wonderful place for skiing.

I stayed one week there in February 2009 at the Pierre et Vacances residence hotel, with my wife and our three small kids. We are not going to renew it, and will hesitate before trying other Pierre et Vacance residences.

Despite the willingness of the crew, the residence suffers from a terrible lack of guidance for the customers. The entire place is a labyrinth where everything is made to confuse. Floors are sometimes numbered with numbers, sometimes with letters. The elevators logic is crazy and different from place to place. The corridors light buttons do not glow in the dark so you can't find them when you need them. The ski locker rooms are incredibly difficult to find. The wall signs only become meaningfull when you know where you go...

We could have coped with all these small annoyances, after all... more
