We were given 2 nights stay at Chapelwick for our Christmas present from our staff 2011. They booked uit for 2/3 Feb (just after our daughters wedding (28/1). Was just the right time for us to have a very relaxing few days away from the phone and computers and the office. Loved the house and the owners and the fact... More

Unpretentious charm and comfort - that is what you will find here. Beautifully quiet. Nicely kept. And Raewyn is a great host who cooks a delicious breakfast and great scones. Not to mention Monty the chilled out house dog who loves the visitors but does not tend to overdo his affection. And a real piece of NZ history you can... More

We chose to stay here to see the longest place name which is nearby. Local accomodation is very limited so the prospect of a B&B was the preferred option. An initial hiccup with the room booking (make sure you get a confirmation in advance) was swiftly sorted before we arrived. Overall the property is stunning. An old and beautiful 1920s... More

Chapelwick is a wonderfully relaxed place to visit and the hosts, Raewyn & Rod are extremely friendly & helpful without being over-the-top. We were greeted by Raewyb even before we'd got out of our car, - no fussiness, just good old-fashioned homeliness. The food is excellent and beautifully presented - no need to look elsewhere for meals! A special treat... More

Chapelwick is a gem ! Far from the madding crowd, it is quiet and peaceful, surrounded by beautiful grounds, with a charming chapel and wrapped in amazing coastal scenery. You will be made to feel like a family member by Reawyn and Rod as soon as you arrive: we rolled up at 10pm, having underestimated the driving time from Wellington... More

We have just spent a wonderful couple of nights at Chapelwick. No ostentation here but a real home from home. The Hunter Suite has been refurbished and is absolutely beautiful with it's own balcony and en suite. Rod and Raewyn were wonderful hosts (along with Rod's mother) and we enjoyed watching the lambs being fed, the local pheasant and collecting... More

We will always look to revisiting Chapelwick when we go home to NZ. Raewyn is a wonderful hostess - warm and intuitive, she immediately feels like part of the family. She has all the history at her fingertips! The food is delicious all the way from breakfast to a platter by the pool, to dinner. The homestead is truly vintage, the... More

My husband and I stay at Chapelwick at least once a year to recharge the batteries. The hosts are very welcoming and really look after you. It is a gorgeous place in the summer, so peaceful and quiet but winter is a special time too with the log fires burning and a great selection of reading material at hand as... More

We (two adults and two teenagers) spent a most relaxing two days at Chapelwick just prior to Christmas and would highly recommend it for a family break. The kids had a great time in the Billiard Room and had the added bonus of tennis and feeding the lambs. A fire in the evening added to the atmosphere (something of a... More

It really is a bit expensive for a family holiday but we coughed up for the night and it was wonderful. Took 2 boys who used all the grounds to play cricket. There was a Swimming pool, tennis court, huge grounds to explore, views of the sea. peace and quiet. I couldn't believe how well I slept. The old homestead... More
