Situated on a low hill along the road that leads to Ponzano Superiore, with a magnificent view over three valleys (trigoe) from which it takes its name, the Locanda La Trigola, completely renovated by the young owners, maintains a "rural-noble" look, with stone walls and wood accents, in the same style the hotel refined rooms which mantains the simplicity and naturalness of the green area where the inn is nestled. The restaurant awaits you with "km 0" proposals, which respect the authenticity of the products of the territory, provided largely by the farm Zangani, of which the restaurant itself is the flagship.

Amazing place with fantastic views. Really close to la Spezia so we could enjoy some days in cincue terre as well. Rural enviroment very relaxing and comfortable. The restaurant is pretty cozy and we loved the breakfast and the dinner we had there. Thank you very much to the staff for beig so caring.

Room Tip: Yo will need to rent a car to get there. The roads are good and it is 19 min away from la Spezia...

We got to hotel at 9:30pm and apparently the owners went home at 9pm. This is a mom and pop type hotel and no one communicated about what time we had to be there. If a resident did not come up to the door about 15 mins of us waiting, we would have had to go somewhere else! The keys were waiting on the front desk inside. Hotel is located up in the mountains. In the dark, it did feel scary at first. Once inside, the rooms were very clean, and the next morning we had a nice breakfast. The dining staff was very pleasant. The fact there was no one to let us in rattled us a bit, but all ended well.

I stayed for 3 nights. Staff was excellent and attentive. The language of choice is Italian, so brush up on you phrases before you go. The room and the hotel is excellent. Larger in size than usual. Very clean with all the amenities you would expect. I did not have any coffee creamer in the room, so the staff provider 1 litre of milk. Great to see such dedication. Breakfast was self service with boiled eggs and 2 types of ham. Lots of baked fare and serials. Not on a direct bus route to La Spezia, but ample parking if you go by car. Excellent restaurant service for lunch and dinner.

We loved this hotel with its good service, very clean and comfortable rooms, beautiful views from the restaurant and breakfast room. Most rooms have either a balcony or terrace. Our room had tea and coffee making, refrigerator, air-conditioning, good WiFi, great shower with good water pressure and a TV. We would definitely stay there again if we were in that area. Would recommend a trip to the Carrara Marble museum if you stay there.

We arrived and checked in around late evening (7:45pm), given one of a family rooms that share a common door (which can be locked with key as well) just outside of these 2 rooms. We had a peaceful evening and hit the bed around 10:30pm. We have been told the restaurant is not opened for dinner time. Apparently no staff is on duty during night time, so it was really peaceful and nice place to get a good sleep. However, after asleep for awhile, I had been waken up by some noise from deep sleep. Few seconds after I awaked, I feel like our room door being hit with some big bangs and like someone is trying to open the door by keep pulling. I managed to check the time from my phone, it is 12am. The next second, our room door's lock has been turned and I immediately realize that someone managed to open our door with a key! I jumped up and rushed to lock back before it is opened. The person outside bang the door again, I managed to shout him away. All the rooms here has a garden that connected directly to outside, meaning you can come in to the room from outside via the sliding door. For the next 30 to an hour, there was noise heard from outside talking loud. My family and I didn't know what is going on as there is no staff on duty. I had to check around the sliding door and outside and make sure the room door is not opened from outside again especially that someone might have a duplicate key! For the next 4 to 5 hours, I didn't sleep, I got to let my baby son and spouse to have enough sleep while making sure no one is coming in to our room! Finally it is 5 am and the day get brighter. What a long day for me. We had our breakfast around 9:30am, and when we went back to room. I realize that I am holding the other room key! That was the time a staff appeared (FINALLY!!!!), and explained that the guest who stayed opposite room can't go into his room because he has been given wrong room key when checked in (how about us??). "Sorry for the incident" was their only words for my family especially myself's most scary experience ever during any vacations. A sentence that ended within 5 seconds for my whole night sleeping time. Why didn't there is no staff could come and attend to the matter when it happens? Apparently the other guest managed to open his room door, but how? Without any staff here, where he got the key, I hope it is not the master keys of the hotel. After this incident, I will never want to stay to this hotel, even for free. Not because of what happened but how they attend to the matter, it was poor. Worst ever experience to have for vacations.

Pretty nice for a short stay. Many nice and well designed things. Location is also good to visit nearby surroundings. The internet must be better, Towels they are new, but they should be checked by the staff before use. We had very loud room, near the elevator, so since breakfast was open we can here everybody going down to the restaurant. The garbage container is to near the hotel, the truck picked them up very early and let us know about it... The stuff is helpful and friendly. Simple things which cannot be rated - it seems that this place is more for summer season.

5 nights in the rooms 2 and 3. We was 4. The room 2 was ok, just a little bit noisy, but the room 3 is placed above the kitchen and it was very noisy and surprise: very smelly. It seemed every night that someone cooked in the room. The hood from the kitchen passes through the walls of room 3 and they are not enough isolated. The food smell is very pithy in the evening until 0:00 o'clock so it could be uncomfortable. Also the hood is very noisy too. The stuff was very friendly and they told us that they could change the room, but we chooses not to, because it was too late and our friends accepted so. The breakfast is Italian, but if you ask for some cheese and eggs they can arrange it. The hotel is very clean and is upon a hill that makes it a good choose. The restaurant is ok, the food is tasty. In conclusion I recommend it, but stay aware of room 3.

We enjoyed 3 days at this beautiful hotel, perfectly situated with breathtaking views of the valley! Room was adequate and well serviced daily. Lovely patio to enjoy the view of the valley! Sadly the weather wasn't the greatest for us to fully enjoy the patio. Bathroom was a good size, with a towel warmer. Hand held shower made up for the low water pressure experienced with the normal shower. Breakfast was excellent! We had a car, so did not use the local bus service, not sure of the accessibility without a car as it is quite a drive up the valley roads, but well worth it! Definitely a hotel to return to.

It was a super stay in really good and nice rooms. And in a quiet and tranquil surroundings. A family business, where customers feel comfortable. Great kindness and helpfulness from the reception. The breakfast buffet is good and varied, with friendly service. We had super good dinners at the restaurant. And here was serving and control in the very top class. There are particularly high praise for the young woman who is a very competent waiter. She was busy, but found time to comfort for guests. Family Zangani owe her much praise and thanks. She really helps to get five stars ***** for this stay!
