Combining the elements. Sharpening the senses. Implementing great ideas! When the three elements water, air and earth meet in an unique combination like at Marbach Castle, directly on the shore of Lake Constance, the fourth element comes naturally: fire and the spark of enthusiasm. Participants develop their ideas in a perfect conclave. Groups of lone fighters merge into teams. A spectacular ambience ignites emotions. A passionate hotel team fulfills the most diverse of requirements. The fact that a world leader in chocolate and cocoa was once founded here clearly demonstrates that this location is the perfect place to develop big ideas by drawing on all the senses.

Really liked the castle and the view which comes with it! It's a bit a challenge to reach it if you don't have a car. With car, easily accessible as the castle is right next to the road and offers sufficient parking lots. There are rooms in the castle to spend the night (I guess, pricey but nice). I spent the night a bit cheaper in a prefabricated golf club house (there's also club course next to the castle across the street) where the room and bathroom was just enough big/small to spend for a few nights. WiFi is good in the room. Unfortunately, they didn't accept my Maestro Card (hadn't been a problem in Germany in the past and also hasn't been since then again) so that they had to issue an invoice. This of course than came with a 20% commission fee for wiring the money to them afterwards.

Response from Marbach, Geschäftsführer at Tagungs- und Seminarzentrum Schloss Marbach
Responded 26 Aug 2019
Dear Pinga123 Thank you very much for sharing your guest experience with us. Currently, the southern part of the beautiful campus including the Castle are undergoing extensive renovation works whereas the northern part you stayed at is in full operation offering perfect service in a slightly more modern setting. Therefore, we were not at all in a position to offer Castle Rooms which are of different standard compared to the functional and recently fully refurbished Golf Lodge rooms. We are very sorry for the inconvenience with processing your Mestro Card due to a technical glitch of our card-reader during check-out. Please send the paperwork regarding the 20% commission including information where to refund the expenses to. Thank you very much again for staying with us, and please rest assured that the technical problem will not reoccur. We are looking forward to your next sojourn at Marbach Castle, eventually in a Castel Room. Kind regards,

Stayed onsite, in the golf lodges, as part of a business conference. Every meal was outstanding. The lodges accommodation was clean, on the small side. The rooms get quite hot from the afternoon sun. Make sure to use the shades. The complex will be undergoing a big renovation soon to update a lot of it. Look forward to seeing it when done.

The location near Constance and the Swiss border is fantastic with a superb view over one of the arms of Lake Constance. The place is owned by a large chocolate manufacturer, using it as a training center. As such, it offers good meeting facilities with quite average service, compared to traditional hotels. The restaurants were good and we enjoyed a high quality dinner at the lake in the boat house. The rooms are tiny, dormitory like standard and size, and one can hear all neighbouring guests easily. The earplugs that are readily provided in every room didn't facilitate confidence in a good night's sleep... The place is good for one day meetings, but lacking quality for overnight stays and service.

Response from Marbach, Geschäftsführer at Tagungs- und Seminarzentrum Schloss Marbach
Responded 21 Aug 2017
Dear Matyas, Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us. I am very pleased that you liked the work-environment and meeting facilities as well as our chefs culinary services. Our focus on meetings only, in an exclusive, intimate setting - no individual guests are on-site - requires minor trade-offs when it comes to services, e.g. laundry & dry cleaning. Yet you will find many facilities such indoor pool, golf-course or others on Marbach site, plus a magnificent setting that is unmatched in quite some radius. Our Golf-Lodge guestrooms are indeed not high-end accommodation, yet they have a great price-value relationship, that is may be priority for some companies staying for a two-day, one-overnight meeting. For any future meeting you may consider to stay in one of our Castle rooms located in the Castle and the adjacent towers which offer more space and other additional amenities. Matyas, thank you very much again for your feedback and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back whenever your plans bring you back to Marbach Castle.

The Marbach castle was a very nice place for a conference. You live where the conference is and that gives you time to socialize with the other attendees. Especially fun was it to try the onsite driving range. There is also bowling and a swimming pool in the castle. The food was great and the conference rooms had good chairs and electric outlets everywhere. Best of it all was the relaxed atmosphere and the incredible view when you had breakfast on the balcony. The WIFI was stable and run at 7 Mbit/second. In the room you got a bathrobe and a pair of slippers. I got a room with a patio door with my own garden. The only bad thing about this place is that there is a road dividing the property into two parts. The main building on the one side and the living quarters on the other. There was not that much traffic, but when the cars came they drove quite fast and the visibility was not great. If this is your first time and you want to see some sites the taxi driver suggested a nearby village called Stein am Rein. Looks nice when we passed that by.

High on a hill overlooking Lake Konstanz in Germany is an outstanding, well maintained conference hotel that has all the amenities business people could ever ask for in having a successful meeting. My husband has a conference there recently and I tagged along for a vacation break and altho there isn't much to do for leisure, it was great to just hang out and catch up on reading or take an excursion into the nearby villages. Food served were excellent, hotel was very accommodating and the pool was great with a great view of Lake Konstanz. My husband thot the conference facilities were A+ and I enjoyed the serenity.

The hotel is mainly a business and conference hotel which is situated on Lake Konstanz slightly set back on a hill giving beautiful views of the lake. There is plenty of free parking. The entrance to the main Hotel is gained by climbing beautiful stone steps. The reception is small and is situated on the left just inside the main lobby. Check-in was efficient and the receptionist very pleasant. Our rooms were not ready so we took our luggage and went straight to our conference room. The conference room was situated in one of the Hotels towers; we had to access it via the impressive Hotel pool. My room was also situated within one of the towers, which was accessed by a circular staircase. A nice touch was that my name was displayed on a small card on my bedroom door. My room was large and clean. The Wicker furniture and colour co-ordination was not really to my taste, everything works and is functional but it is something you would find in a classical Floridian home. A comfy double bed offered a good night’s sleep. The large bathroom is clean and functional. The Restaurant is quiet small but very tastefully decorated. The food and service was excellent. A highlight was a small drink in the small bar in front of an open fire. We had the possibility of choosing our wine from the Cellar which was an experience; we had to walk through the Kitchen to gain entrance. Breakfast was taken in the small restaurant, the selection of cereals, cold and hot food was displayed outside in the hallway. The service was very good. Generally the hotel offers a very high standard and I had a good experience, the personal are very competent. Internet is an optional extra but worked well.
