We took a cab for 5 Euro from the train station in Goslar and upon arrival were greated warmly by the owner of this small hotel, which is sort of like a bed and breakfast place. It is right off the main square and close to the castle and historic area. The little trams and horse-drawn carriages come right under the window, and it is right around the main shops and restaurants. The room was large, we thought--there were three single beds and quite comfortable, although the bathroomm was small. It was very clean, with a small table to eat at, if you brought your own food.
In the morning, we were served by the owner in the charming breakfast room area, at the window looking out onto the brook and the cobblestone street. We got a map and walked around, although most everything was in German. The staff spoke passable English, but not more than needed. We ate dinner in a pleasant Italian restaurant across the street.
For the price, this was a good experience and the town of Goslar...
