We needed a hotel for one night in Bingen, and I was having problems finding info on-line. I e-mailed the Bingen TI office, and they recommended the Rheinhotel Starkenburger Hof as a hotel that is close to the train station and also close to the boat docks. The hotel is centrally located and the very effective double glazing keeps the noise of the adjacent railway line out. Obviously at one time it was a top class hotel (see the old pictures on the walls ) but now it is just average with rather basic rooms. The buffet breakfast has a good selection. Would recommend this Hotel in Bingen. Even though is right next to the railway line, the double glazing prevented any train noises. Handy for centre of town, railway station and ferry departures. Very clean and spacious. Excellent food and friendly staff. What more could you ask for. A very enjoyable holiday - shame about the weather though. That did not... more
