I stayed in this hotel for 9 nights on a business trip. It is a fairly old building. Overall I had a very good stay at this hotel and would recommend it to anybody visiting Detmold for business or pleasure. This was the 4th hotel we stayed at during a 10 day European trip and our favorite. It was about a 15 minute walk from the train station. The staff greeted warmly despite our lousy German skills. “Disappointing Hotel”

This is a beautiful old building that has had its heart and soul ripped out to become a generic " boutique hotel". Some staff were friendly others were rude. The rooms were tiny with revolting brown shagpile carpets which carried through the hotel. It is very sad to see what has been done to this hotel since our last visit.... More
