We stayed one night at the Lindenhof whilst travelling. We chose Emsdetten as it is well situated for autobahn approaches from either NL or the Ruhr to Osnabruck, and are glad we did. This was a gem of a small-town hotel, on a quiet street near the rail station. We were given a superb, very spacious room on the top floor, a bargain at E82. But dinner was the highlight - excellent, good-value Westfalian specialities, with a touch of flair - and, typically for much of Germany these days, great value for money,
And Emsdetten, whilst hardly on the tourist trail, is a a very pleasant place to stroll around.
