We just spent a totally charming weekend at the Hotel Schaeferhof in Lueneberger Heide.

The innkeeper, Mr. Glet, and his wife were super attentive and helpful, as were all of the other staff. Mr. Glet speaks perfect English, which was extremely helpful for our group and not so typical for that region of Germany. We were 7 people in total. My husband and I arrived after the rest of the group, and Mr.Glet offered to pick us up at the train station, which was such a pleasant surprise and totally above and beyond the call of duty!

We hadn't intended on it, but we ended up eating breakfast and dinner at the hotel every day. The huge and delicious breakfast buffet was included in our room price. The dinner menu was very diverse and surprisingly tasty, and apparently the hotel is known throughout the region for its amazing desserts.
