The staff in this charming old hotel was not especially friendly and outgoing. This may have been due in part to a limited knowledge and/or a reluctance to communicate in English. The hotel has no elevator, and it was necessary to climb 4 flights of stairs (approximately 48 steps) with luggage to our room on the 2nd floor. The bed was extremely low, only 14 inches above the floor. The continental breakfast was adequate but not extraordinary. We discovered many tables in the large breakfast room to be cluttered with dirty dishes at 8 a.m., and locating a clean table without any assistance offered by the staff was difficult.
