Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We liked the hotel. I had read a review about the bells of the cathedral being noisy but we didn't hear them. The rooms are around a large courtyard and we were away from the bells. Our room was nice and had A/C. there was also a lift so we didn't have to carry bags up any stairs. The room had a decent shower that you could walk into (not over a bath). Parking was free, if you could find a space in their car park. They also had a small underground car park for €12.50 a day. Breakfast was a mixture of hot and cold. They had a fresh orange juice machine as well as a coffee machine. They own the restaurant next door so if you have dinner there you can just put it on your bill. It's not the cheapest hotel in town but has a good location. There is a 24 hour reception and a courtyard where you can order drinks. I would happily stay there again.

Very nice hotel. Restaurant food ok beer good selection. Staff great BUT cathedral bells all night long every 15 minutes with a massive peal at 6.50 am. To say that sleeping was difficult is an understatement! The location is lovely but how can such loud bells be necessary 24 hours a day? And the hotel is right next to it.

The Domhof is built in an old building but has been, internally, modernised. Room was small but well equipped and had a good bathroom. Only ate breakfast there'very good buffet. Pricy hotel but an excellent location close to the Dom.

We booked for two nights in what seemed a lovely 4* hotel, hotel Domhof in Speyer - Germany. Room was ok. But staff was very rude when we complained about a group of people who were watching a football match in the garden of the hotel, right under the window of our room. It was a hot night, no airco, so window open. It was the hotel itself that organised this in the garden. Instead of apologising the manager blamed us for overreacting. We were absolutey flabbergasted when he told us. We left the next morning, paid 150 (!) euro’s for this experience. And still no apology. Don’t go there!

Stayed for 1 night whilst on a business trip. Staff very friendly and efficient. Room large and clean. Nice touch having an i-Pad in the room for guest use. Hotel WiFi quick and free to use. Only minor issue was that my double bed was 2 singles pushed together. Not as comfortable as a double bed would have been. Nice selection of hot and cold buffet food for breakfast. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Would have liked to have had more time to explore the nearby town centre and cathedral.

I was here on a trip that mixed business and social purposes and found the hotel ideally suited for such a venture. The rooms were quiet, comfortably appointed, immaculately clean and nicely decorated. The building is old, but in an excellent state of repair, and provides a pleasant mix of coziness and modern-day creature comforts. The courtyard was decorated for Christmas but really must come into its own in the summer. The location just across the street from the cathedral makes it a natural choice for the discerning traveler, everything that’s worth visiting is well within reach even if you literally have only minutes to spend around a business appointment. Breakfast was good and offered a wide choice from an exclusively self-service buffet in a very impressive state room adorned with coats of arms. There is parking, but you may regret buying that SUV when you arrive - proving once again that smaller cars are the intelligent choice. I would definitely recommend coming here if you visit the area, and even for a stopover on a longer drive.

We arrived exited in a town with over 2000 years of history to book into the Hotel Domhof. Ideally situated close to the Dom, the Rhine river and restaurants we met new friends that we will cherish for years to come. The room was very neat, comfortable and I loved the information tablet. The reception and breakfast was equally great. Don't miss the chocolates on the reception desk.

Nice hotel centrally located close to the main street, square and cathedral of Speyer. All rooms appear to face onto a quiet courtyard which during my visit was used for outdoor seating and breakfast. My room was spacious and in keeping with the age of the building. Breakfast was good, typical German breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice and lovely breads. Staff are helpful and the standard of English is excellent. Parking is ok if you use their garage (additional daily charge) otherwise you are fighting for space with the brewery next door. Meals other than breakfast can be taken in the brewery next door which is part of the hotel. Be prepared for the noise of the cathedral bells! They seemed quiet overnight but went into overdrive from about 6:30 am
