We visited Lindau during a quick weekend trip. The hotel was in a decent location and had a friendly staff. The breakfast was fairly good. On the downside, the hotel was fairly noisy at night. It may have been mostly the other guests, but the walls were thin.

First of all, this is a renovated old building which is charming. Some reviewers complain about no lift. If you need help with bags then why are you traveling in small German towns? We gad a great experience when staying at the hotel. It is positioned in the middle of Lindau, no noice from the street (we were there of season, 3rd floor and yes, you can hear church bells). We spent 3 nights here in early September. As mentioned, the hotel is difficult to find with a car because of the narrow winding old streets. Right after you cross the causeway, there is a tourist information site in the building directly opposite the roundabout. They can direct you very quickly to the hotel. Cute hotel on Lindau Insel in a Pedestrian Street with shops and restaurants....however, parking is far away and there is NO elevator. Free WiFi & Internet a PLUS! Breakfast was good & included! Hotel doesn't have air conditioning or a fan! Hard to sleep with the church bells every 15 minutes.
