I wish I could be more positive about the Ochsen, because the owners are so nice, but after returning home, I nearly fell on my face from exhaustion. It was 3 nights with very little sleep.

Why?
The Ochsen is situated right across the street from a church with a clock tower. It’s a very pretty clock tower, mind you. But after midnight it ceases to be so pretty. It doesn’t matter where in the hotel your room is, on the street side or on the inside, you WILL hear the bells. The bells clang every quarter of an hour and then again ON the hour. If you happen to doze off at 11pm and are zonked enough to make it through the 3 quarter-hour chimes, the 12 bells at midnight will definitely wake you up. That is to say unless you live across from a clock tower in real life.

Then let’s say you finally get to sleep after midnight and none of the hourly chimes rouse you. You are STILL not off the hook, especially if you have a room on the street side. The Ochsen is... more
