Can't fault this superb chalet. Excellent food, including for vegetarians, interesting choice of wines you wouldn't get in the UK. Lovely hosts - friendly, full of useful information and local knowledge as they have been here a long time. They couldn't have been more obliging re lifts and dinner times etc. The chalet is in Serneus, slightly out of Klosters itself but the bus service is so excellent that even if you didn't want to use the complementary lift service you would not have trouble getting home after a day on the mountains. The chalet is just on the edge of the village 20 m to bus stop. We travelled from the UK by train which you can do in a single day as long as you live close to the Eurostar! The RhatischeBahn (which is also included in your ski pass if you have your ski kit with you) is a lovely way to travel both to here and around the various valleys. Personally we liked being out in a village rather than in Klosters itself - less touristy (although excellent restaurant in the village). Considering how expensive Switzerland is at the moment this place is also excellent value. We particularly enjoyed the run down to Kublis (about 2000 vertical if you go all the way from the Weissfluh!) and the black 10 off the Madrisa down to the bottom of Klosters dorf.

This chalet experience is genuinely 5*, we had a great week. Having read previous reviews I expected it to be good, and was still amazed! Top class food & wine, friendly but discrete service from Simon and Julia, and the chalet itself, made it a memorable holiday. We have stayed in lots of ski chalets before, this is easily the best. The chalet is not ski in/out of course, but Simon drives you to the lifts, and the chalet is also easy to access via the free local bus as well. The skiing was great too, with good snow and not too busy, even in half term! Needless to say, we will be back :)

The hosts Julia and Simon were wonderful.they have a lovely chalet with a million dollar view. Greeted us with a lovely cup of tea and cake. The room was large, with alpine furnishings, very clean. Bathroom had lovely thick towels and very clean. Beds were very comfortable with wonderful pillows. Breakfast was great. Loved our stay.

first off, Julia and Simon are wonderful hosts who have built and run this charming lodge. warm, comfortable rooms and common spaces. we very much enjoyed our time based at Chesa Flurina (we were actually there in Dec 2010, I'm a bit tardy on this review), the setting was fantastic for our couple days of skiing and exploring the Davos area. Simon was particularly helpful w/ our sorting other activities in town prior to arriving. the train station is town is convenient as were many fun wintertime activities. would go back in a heartbeat! ps - be wary of the super high taxi costs in the area; it is Switzerland, but holy crap.....

My husband and I were looking to find a combination of the comfort, style and service we have come to expect of family-run four star hotels in the Swiss and Austrian Alps, along with the ski chalet experience. In Chesa Flurina we found it–and more! Our upstairs ensuite double room was warm, comfortable and tastefully furnished. The living and dining areas of the chalet are equally welcoming and tasteful. Julia's cooking is "to die for" and the three course dinners a great combination of excellent food, well chosen wines and interesting conversation. Simon's ski guiding was terrific and really opened up the ski area for us. Skiing from the Weissfluhjoch all the way down to the village of Serneus is just a delight. If you are looking to experience all that the Davos/Klosters area has to offer, combined with a peaceful setting, and some great fun, service and food, Chesa Flurina could be for you. And although peaceful, it's still very accessible. Simon will give you a lift, and if not, the bus drops you right outside the door. I can highly recommend Chesa Flurina. We started the evening with drinks and nibbles around the open fire. This was followed by a wonderful freshly cooked three course meal with each course accompanied by a different wine offering, all of which were excellent. The individual cheese soufflé for starters was perfectly timed and was followed by the piece de resistance, a Salmon Coullibiac. It was beautifully presented and filled with a tasty combination of fresh salmon and rice all mixed together with herbs and served with fresh asparagus. there was just room for dessert before we retired to sip teas and coffees (and eat chocolate) round the fire.

Planning a trip revolves around trawling the web for just the right accommodation. Sometimes it falls into place quickly, sometimes more patience is required, but eventually one takes the plunge. We planned our drive thru the Davos- Klosters area of the Swiss Alps. It took a while to sift out the hotels in the area and decide on Simon & Julia's Chesa Flurina, a picture perfect location on a tiny road, out of Klosters. Sounded just right, but who knows off the net! A warm welcome, a spotless charming chalet, a bedroom window view to die for... And we knew we had chosen well! A stroll into the neighbouring village with its pristine whitewash houses with carved timber facades, flower adorned drinking fountains, picket fences and typical clock church steeple, took us to some wooded walks on gentle slopes. A short drive to Klosters took us to the little train which winds thru the picture perfect countryside to Davos and back. A windy drive up a never-ending narrow dirt road took us to a most memorable al fresco evening meal at Alpenrosli, perched over a valley, swaddled in warm evening sunlight, surrounded by magestic beauty, listening to the jingle of cow bells - a magical highlight! All of these, our hosts suggestions, along with a delicious breakfast, relaxing ambience, healthy lifestyle, gave us a most memorable visit and a reason to return for more!

We stayed at the Chesa Flurina to start our hiking holiday in June 2011. Beautiful house, spacious room, nicely furnished and decorated with love. Simon and Julia are so lovely people and great hoasts. For breakfast we had delicious home made jam. We slept very well in this quiet place, none of the hectic athmosphere of the big tourist centers. You step out the house and walk though the nature - a real island of freedom. Hope to go back soon.

This is just a fabulous place. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Simon and Julia have gone out of their way to help us have the best possible ski trip. The food is outstanding and the surroundings are beautiful. Simon brought us on ski outings to places we would never have found alone. Four days ski hosting included was an incredible bonus. Also the transport on tap meant that you literally walked off the slopes into the lap of luxury. 5 minutes from the centre of Klosters in a luxury transfer. This is the first time we have contributed to trip advisor as we have never felt the need to so wholeheartedly recommend something. If you are thinking about coming to Klosters I honestly don't think you could find a nicer place to stay!

We have not stayed in the chalet itself but have been able to sample the cooking of the hostess, Julia and the genial hospitality of the host, Simon. In summers, Julia and Simon run a bed and breakfast chalet. We booked our friends from Italy in there and they were delighted with the accomodation and the delicious breakfast. For our part we have had dinner there (Julia offers evening meals in additrion to bed and breakfast). It was a perfectly prepared balanced vegetarian meal all freshly cooked with locally sourced produce. It was accompanied by an excellent local wine served by our host Simon who ensured that our glasses were never empty unless we protested "enough".. The dessert was a magnificent fresh berry pavlova. It was delicious. So much so, we took a photo; and I had seconds!
