Much has been written about the Saratz. The new and the old sections, the facilities, the grand breakfast room and more, so it's easy to understand the rave reviews. Husband and I stayed three nights in a junior suite. Once in a while you stay somewhere special and with character, different from the ordinary chain hotels. This is such a hotel. Hotel Saratz serves a small convention center, provides easy access to great day hikes, and has upscale services/facilities. Superior breakfast buffet in the morning and outstanding dinner in the evening, with hiking between; Hotel Saratz has it together. Very helpful and friendly staff. Take a long day hike to the base of the glacier. more

The Saratz is a famous established hotel in the region, very old but with a tastefully designed contemporary new wing, with a fantastic spa and Hammam (which means some nudity, but very discrete). It's near St. Moritz and some of the well known ski resorts, but not near enough for the passionate skier who wants to spend all day skiing.... more

Our extended family, 15 persons, 7-guestrooms, stayed at the Saratz June 23rd for only 1-night on our two-week tour of Switzerland. I think we needed more time in Pontresina and St. Moritz, and more time at the Hotel Saratz. It's a very interesting hotel: old and new, traditional and contemporary.
