We travel in Switzerland every summer for 3-4 weeks and stay in very fine 3 and 4 star hotels. The Chalet Cairn is our favorite hotel in all of Switzerland and simply must be seen to be believed. First of all it only has 16 rooms and is owned and run by the lovliest couple you will ever meet in Switzerland- you are made to feel as if you are staying in the beautiful home owned by good friends. Johanna welcomes you and serves at dinner and breakfast while Tony is an award winning chef. The ambiance of the place is nothing like we have ever experienced anywhere else in the world. There are lovley carved wooden ceilings in the dining room and some of the guest rooms (done by Tony) and in the evening a fire is lit in the small lounge. The food is superb, the rooms darling, and the atmosphere unforgetable. If you stay in Saas Fee (very fine hiking here) you must stay at this hotel- it is even reasonably priced. It very well may become your favorite hotel in the world too. more
