The rooms of the Alex are nothing special, a little old fashioned, but they are totally clean. Some of the balconies are pretty large and offer lovely views. I liked this hotel very much. At first I thought it wasnt going to be nice at all because it was a little outdated. They use real keys for the rooms and bathrooms- yes with a keyhole- something I have not seen in years. However the beds were very good the view was gorgeous. The rooms looked better in person than the not-so-appealing photos on their (german only) website. The beds were comfortable and the room sufficiently large, but not huge. It's not new by any standards, but the upkeep was impeccably clean and still very comfortable. The balconys were very large and the views from the hotel amazing.
