The Ruedihus sits in a small meadow as you head out of the village of Kandersteg. It is across the street from it's parent hotel Waldhotel Doldenhorn. Built in 1753 the Ruedihus exudes charm from the moment you see it. From the dark patina of it's wooden interior to the fine antiques found in every corner of the building you feel surrounded in history.
The ceilings are low in some rooms and the doorways small enough to remind you all is original to this 9 room guesthouse. There is a lively stube downstairs serving gourmet food at night.
Staying here is like spending a night in a small museum. If you would like a more lively atmosphere you are encouraged to cross the street to enjoy all the facilities of the Waldhotel Doldenhorn.
This was a very interesting place to spend a couple of nights.
