I'm loathe to give this one away but I can't keep a secret and the Stonehaven is a secret.And it's haunted....
Situated in the middle of Centaur Street (off Dublin St.) in the centre of Carlow town the Stonehaven is contained by a small unassuming terraced house.Comprising of only 3 rooms it's a compact and quiet little..well,haven for a weary traveller.I was tipped off about this place by a cabbie in town who contacted the landlady to say I would be coming.The Clarkin family run both the B&B and the Stonehaven lounge and Market Bar across the street.You'll meet Tom or John Clarkin there who are friendly,"no nonsense" types.The Market Bar is a lively daytime bar where you'll meet the locals who'll spin yarns and ask you personal questions which is pretty much the same as the rest of Ireland!
The back bedroom over the extension was a bit cigarettey but very clean and fairly comfortable with an en-suite.The kitchen is stocked with breakfast cereals,tea and bread... more
