Stayed at the cottage some time ago with pleasing memories. We were passing through Keswick and diverted to Braithwite as we had found out that the Cottage was serving lunch now. Booked over the phone and arrived to be warmly greeted by the owner. There had been some tastefull alterations to the main reception since or last visit, but on... More

This is a family owned hotel and you are made welcome from entering the front door. What can I say about the food that Liam and his team create, wonderful, exquisite, imaginative, SUPERB! And that's only the breakfast. DINNER has climbed to an even higher level. The success appears to be that all the staff endeavour and reach a standard... More

The garden room is a very comfortable suite with lovely forest views and a private entrance . The food is careful, some local sourcing and well presented . Kathy is delightful . Ditto the trainee manager. Easy access too to easy forest walks and characterful towns. We were surprised that the wine vintages were not given on the wine list.... More

Dear Udston. Thanks for reviewing your stay with us. The Garden Room is our newest room and is proving very popular. Thanks also for highlighting the good value for money we offer, the wine list is a good example. We believe really good food is enhanced by really good wine. Dear Chris Thanks for your review and the positive feedback. In particular, we are delighted you have mentioned the professionalism of our team. The wild life sightings have been many just recently, with the red squirrels and deer very active and the bird feeders are attracting woodpeckers and a pair of jays, along with the usual chaffinches, bluetits and siskins. We... More

We stayed for 3 nights with our friends and cannot fault this fantastic hotel. The food is amazing and the staff are very efficient and friendly. Front of house, Kath is a wonderful host and has perfected the balance of always being on hand but never intruding. After reading a few reviews we worried about the size of the standard... More

We've just returned from a fantastic 3 night break over the New Year, where once again we enjoyed amazing hospitality and the most marvellous, wonderful food.
