Stayed for one night as a spontaneous weekend visit. The bed was not a double and my feet hung over the edge, the room was not 4* standard and the poor girl working in the restaurant seemed to be doing everything. As previous comments state maybe a work in progress. Breakfast was lovely. Didn't try the bar as a private... More

You cant beat this hotel for the rooms, service, food, staff and above everything the views. We are local to the area and just wanted a night away close to home and couldn't have asked for more. We were in the Ennerdale apartment which had a superb front facing position. The room was clean with excellent facilities. The hotel also... More

The location is fantastic and the views are brilliant. The room I stayed in was decent and clean, however the bathroom bin had not been emptied from the last occupants. The pool is good and the hot tub is great. Embleton spa however, has one huge downside and that is the food. It took the staff what seemed like years... More

Stayed at the hotel last week for 2 nights. The hotel is a real surprise once over the threshold, rooms are clean and you can tell that a lot of money has and is being spent on the hotel. We had the "grasmere suite" that over looked the fields and fells. The room was very comfy and clean. Wicked shower.... More

We stayed here for two nights and booked an en-suite room, but on arrival was upgraded to an apartment room (ennerdale Appartment), it was a friendly welcome from the hotel Owner Ray. The room was very good it had its own kitchen with hob, and microwave, fridge, it had separte lounge and excellant views of skiddaw/sale fell. The bar area/lounge... More

We called in here for some food on a weekend out in the Lakes. We stumbled upon it thinking it was quite a posh place but there was a sign outside saying food all-day. We had expectations of not much food and high prices but we were hungry!! Well what a very pleasant suprise, the menu prices were suprisingly good... More

We live locally in Cockermouth (4 miles) and thoroughly enjoy going to the Embleton Spa Hotel for a meal. We are made to feel most welcome and enjoy the quiet relaxed atmosphere in the Loung/Bar. The view from the conservatory looks out over the local fells and Skiddaw and is magnificent. The home cooked food is always excellent and tasty... More

We didn't stay in the hotel, but we visited a few times whilst staying at Wythop Mill. Myself, husband, teenagers, and my Mum were very warmly welcomed here, they couldn't do enough for us. The locals and the staff were friendly and informative of the surrounding area and the kids could get their internet 'fix' for free! The food was... More

We had a great weekend at the Embleton Spa Hotel. Large well equipped rooms with great views, The Derwent room was anyway. Very cosy bar / lounge with a big open fire and local ales, perfect after a day out in the hills and lakes. Very friendly & helpful staff and the hotel owner was very happy to accommodate our... I stayed here for 2 nights in September 2012. My initial impression was very good. The location is stunning, overlooking set back from beautiful hills, just of the A66. It's approx 5 miles away from Cockermouth and 9 from Keswick. The hotel certainly looks the part, with natural stone walls, beams and lots of character. We were expecting to be... More
