The space was good, but some of the beds very hard and uncomfortable. Check in was 4PM and checkout 10AM, so we felt like we lost a day, and it wasn't cheap. Asked for a late checkout and it's £200 per property (even a two bed) for an extra two hours. No shampoo/shower gel in bathrooms. The pool was good, accommodation clean etc but overall disappointing

Dear mattc170 Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We're delighted to hear that you found the space good, the pool enjoyable, and the accommodation clean – we strive to provide a comfortable and clean environment for our guests. We are also thrilled you gave us 5* for our location which is absolutely stunning. Regarding the beds, we apologise if they didn't meet your expectations. We usually receive positive comments about the comfort of our memory foam mattresses, but we understand that preferences can vary. As for check-in and check-out times, we appreciate your understanding of our policy. We aim to clearly communicate these times on our website to ensure that our guests can plan their stay accordingly. Late check-out requests are subject to availability as it involves additional resources and staff coordination. We're sorry to hear about the disappointment regarding the absence of shampoo and shower gel. Our policy is to provide hand soap, which is indicated on our website before booking. We truly value your feedback, and it's our hope that, overall, you had a memorable time celebrating your mother's special occasion. If there's anything more you'd like to share or discuss, please feel free to reach out to us directly. With very best regards Claire

Had a great family experience staying in the Victoria and Albert barn. Very family friendly and great having the swimming pool, hot tub, games room and activity area. The children loved it! Very clean and comfortable so a great week was spent by all! Also lots of child friendly places to visit that are within an hour to reach.

Unfortunately the accommodation (The Stable) was in our opinion well overpriced. Furniture very tried looking & seen better days. Uncomfortable. No dishwasher which you normally would have in self catering at this price. Fishing lakes not easy to get too.

Dear Upbeat321! Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us regarding your recent stay at The Stable. We truly value your input as it helps us to continually improve our offerings. We're delighted to say that guests often appreciate the cosy and traditional ambiance of The Stable, along with its modern amenities such as the 50" smart TV, new grey sofa, and armchair, underfloor heating and complimentary superfast WiFi. The conservatory with its amazing views towards the lakes and Bulbarrow Hill, the second highest point in Dorset is indeed a favourite spot for many of our guests. We take great pride in preserving the character of the original Victorian Stable barn, and we're thrilled that guests find the Oak beams and brickwork feature walls appealing. In 2022 we invested in a new kitchen to provide a pleasant cooking experience for our guests. While we understand the convenience of a dishwasher, it's true that The Stable does not have one, and we make sure to clearly communicate this information during the booking process to avoid any surprises. Regarding the fishing lakes, we apologise for any inconvenience you experienced in accessing them. The lakes are approximately 200 metres from The Stable, and we have a gravel track leading to them. Most of our guests find it to be an easy and enjoyable walk, but we also provide the option of driving to the lakes where there is convenient parking available. Once again, we appreciate your valuable feedback, and we'll be using it to further enhance the experience for all our guests. If there's anything else you'd like to discuss or if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We hope you had a pleasant time exploring the beautiful Dorset countryside, and we'd love to welcome you back for another stay in the future. With very best wishes Claire

I booked The Victorian Barn for my best friends hen weekend, and we were not disappointed. Firstly, Claire and Penny are so helpful! Prior to our arrival I had some questions and was looking for recommendations of place to eat out in the local area. They emailed me places to go and how far it was to get to each of them. On arrival the accommodation we had booked had had a leak (the rain was torrential that day) so we were upgraded to a bigger property. The property itself was AMAZING! Lovely and spacious, everything you could need, clean, nice bedding and pillows and lovely towels. The grounds are beautiful, lots of areas to sit and enjoy the scenery and if you have little ones with you there are things for them to do - a swing, slide and an activity centre. Our property had a hot tub, which was Devine! The pool is great, it’s big, clean, the inside of the building is great, there is also a sauna. There is nothing I would have changed about our stay! Thank you Claire and Penny, our hen weekend was really special!

Exactly what we needed for a two family break with lots of kids. Place itself is beautiful, nice and secluded but within half hour of lots of places to see. Kids spent all the time playing in the facilities offered and had a blast! The cottage itself was lovely and spacious so when all inside we still had lots of room.

Lovely place with every facility you could want, everything was clean and tidy ,play areas were very popular with our granddaughter , we managed to get a swim slot every day but we were only guest and bit disappointing that very limited time slots restricting days out but not really a deal buster. Overall would highly recommend.

Awesome venue and amazing facilities for our juniors rugby tour. This was our 2nd trip to the Victorian Barn for our rugby club tour (U9’s and U11’s) catering for 50+ guests in self-contained facilities. Access to the group kitchen and bar, as well as dining made the group meals fantastic experiences and it was all topped off by the indoor pool which the kids loved.

Very special place my 6 and 2 year old girls loved it so much- with the cows, beautiful views, amazing pool and playground. Also huge indoor playroom with table tennis, badminton. Stunning lakes to picnic around and exquisite walks. Penny was very kind she saw us blackberry picking and invited us into her garden to pick some apples to make a crumble. The pool really is special and my eldest learnt to swim unaided her after at least an hour a day of practice. Do not hesitate to book
