I stayed for one night in the Reims Formule 1 hotel. All Formule 1 hotels follow the same basic format. They are close to a motorway, or main road. They have rooms with a double bed, and a single bunk over the top. The rooms have a sink, towels, and TV. Bathrooms are shared, and clean themselves automatically (and are also manually cleaned). In the showers you get free shampoo.

Breakfast has improved (this costs about 4 euros). Now you get two types of cereal, baguettes and bread to toast, juice, hot drinks, fruit compote and various jams and nutella.

You can book online, and if you arrive late, you can check in via a machine. The franchise owners of this hostel seemed pleasant and were on reception when we arrived and left.

I had a non smoking room (which unfortunately you don't seem to be able to request online), and it was a good night's rest. Formule 1 hotels aren't particularly charming, but the location is always good if you are on your way... more
