The Chateau du Bastit (as a hotel) is very new - I think it opened for the first time in 2004. It's run by the family that runs the Chateau de La Treyne, so it is perhaps not surprising to learn that it is stunning.
I stayed there in early July 2005 with family for three nights - we booked all five of the rooms (big family reunion!). At the time of our stay, the Chateau did not yet offer dinners, thought it did provide breakfast for an additional 15 euros per person. The rooms are spacious and luxurious. Each of the bathrooms is done in marble. Every room has a stunning view of the surrounding area.
To get to the Chateau, you drive though the tiny village of 'Le Bastit' - about a 10-15 minute drive from the Chateau de La Treyne. We had dinner at La Treyne every evening as the food was beyond perfect.
I can only think of 2 negative points: the parking area - it only comfortably fits 2 cars, so you may need to leave your car at the bottom of the steep...
