Run, don't walk to this spotless, 2nd generation Premat family-run chalet-hotel 4km outside Morzine at the foot of Avoriaz @ the tramway. We just returned from a late June 2-night summer stay, half-board, with the owner being a formally trained French chef--delicious meals in a pleasant, windowed bar/dining area with gleaming wood walls and floors. Patio dining available. Quiet, fantastic scenery, sparkling pool, ping pong, lawn area, great hiking,--loved those nearby resident cows across the creek and up the hill with their tinkling bells. Golf enthusiasts will enjoy the 9-hole golf course at the top of the mountain reached by the tramway or by car. The gracious owners made us feel welcome despite our French language failings. Ask for room 14, upstairs, a double that converts to a quad with 2 bunks (as needed) that features double patio doors that open to a small south facing balcony overlooking the rear lawn area and ski slopes/mountains.
