My boyfriend and I stayed for two nights and really enjoyed the lovely surroundings. We arrived fairly late and were welcomed by our hosts, Paddy and Paul, with a lovely pot of tea and homemade fruit cake. Our room was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed falling asleep to the burbling sound of the stream that runs past the B&B... More

A lovely B&B in an exceptional setting. The building is a converted water-mill tucked away in a tiny village near Machynlleth in Powys. The owners, Paddy & Paul are charming & helpful, the rooms are comfy & quiet, breakfast is first-class & the scenery is outstanding. What more do you need from a B&B

My wife and I stayed here while walking Glyndwr's Way and had a marvelous experience. We first met the proprietor in the morning along the trail itself while he walking to tend to his bee hive. "Hello," he said, "you must be [our names]!"--incredible. He picked us up at the end of the day and chatted merrily on our way... More

Stayed here last Saturday. paul and his wife are really friendly people and we enjoyed our time. Abercegir is a tiny village, so a car is essential, but the countryside surrounding is walking heaven. The building has wonderful old wooden floors, and what looks like lime plaster inside the stone walls. Food was beautifully cooked, individually prepared to order, fantastic... More

We stayed for 3 nights and found this to be an excellent B&B. A beautifully quiet spot next to the old mill stream which is bursting with bird life and with some pleasant walks on the doorstep. Machynlleth is just a few miles down the road. Paul & Paddy were very welcoming (with much appreciated tea and cake on arrival)... More

Paddy & Paul are great hosts, wanting to look after your every need. Excellent location and good breakfast. Our only 'negative' comment is that for us the rooms and shower cubicle were a little too small and a little dated with lots of chintz. This shouldn't stop you from visiting what is a very good B&B

part of a week long trip around north wales, we stayed here for two nights. Paddy and Paul were very welcoming and friendly, served tea and cake on our arrival, and showed us to our room which was neat and clean, with plenty of storage and a nice sized shower room. My only gripe about the bathroom would be that... More

What a idyllic place to stay! The surroundings are beautiful, the place is spotlessly clean and the welcome is just what you need after a long journey! It is slightly off the beaten track but the town is only a 5 minute drive away. The food was fantastic with a lot of the produce being home-grown with the breakfast eggs... More

We so enjoyed our stay at Yr Hen Felin (The Old Mill) in Abercegir,North Wales (near Machynlleth) that we stayed an extra night. There are only four rooms, but this means that each guest gets very personal service from Paddy and Paul, the gracious, friendly owners of the B&B. The rooms are lovely, with old, wide-board flooring and wonderfully comfortable... More
