We stayed at Mingary Barn last weekend and found the welcome, the accomodation and the breakfast to be absolutely fantastic. This is the standard that all B&B's should be striving to attain. We will certainly be looking to stay again - maybe even organising a future trip to include another visit.

Stopped for a night while walking Hadrian's Wall. We had a very enjoyable stay, finding the property immaculately clean, modern and stylish. My wife and I stayed here in July 2012. Arrived wet and muddy from the trail. Beautiful room, very welcoming hosts. Great breakfast. They even placed our boots in a drying room and had them ready for us in the morning. Val and Ronny are great hosts. We would not hesitate to go there again.

Nicely furnished place, nice bath room, clean and tidy. But: We had a tiny room with a second bed squeezed inside, although there was a hairdryer there was no electrical outlet - we had to remove the bed from the wall to find one. To step out of the room we had to step over one of our two pieces... More

We stayed here for one night whilst walking Hadrian's Wall. The location is ideal for this. The barn is lovely. The rooms beautifully decorated and clean and the shower in our room was wonderful and very welcome. Breakfast was good and the owners friendly and good humoured. A very cosy stay and recommended.

As the title states - one of the best accommodations we have stayed in after 14 LD walks throughout Scotland and Northern England - that's almost 70 overnight stops in different places. Lovely house and comfy bedrooms but nowhere for guests to sit. The local pub does really terrible food. It was quite a walk from the trail so depends what you are looking for. It would make a big difference to have a guest lounge.
