We booked this purely because it was the cheapest four poster bed in the area, so very glad we did ! All the furniture was mahoganey not the cookie cutter hotel fare, the bed was amazing and covered in plush velvets. The whole room had the wow factor, right down to the huge whittard's cups and twinnings tea. The bathroom... more

A lovingly maintained b&b that shines from the moment you walk in. The staff are extremely friendly and eager to help, the room we had (No 7, second floor) was furnished with top quality, modern fixtures and fittings to give a contempory feel to this traditional looking hotel. I looked hard for the slightest trace of neglect or dust and... more

warmly greeted on arrival, and supplied with a hot drink whilst luggage was taken to our room.we were then shortly shown to room 11,which is very tastefully decorated, situated up a small flight of stairs, and overlooks the beautiful secluded rear garden, which has chairs and tables for guests use.The room was plenty big enough for two of us,and has a sumptuous 6ft ,Queen... more

This would have to be one of the nicest hotels/B & B I have stayed in. The rooms have been beautifully refurbished and all come with huge comfortable king size beds, lovely furnishings, clean bathrooms that include complimentary shower gels etc, flat screen digital tv's and come with wireless internet access which is great. The dining room is lovely and... more

The owner here is very friendly, our bedroom was modern, clean and had everything we needed. When we returned from our night out though, the man downstairs was snoring... and we could hear him quite plainly. It didn't stop me sleeping though but my wife had a bit of a job. Breakfast is a continental affair, fruit, croissants, toast etc... more

I stayed for a single night on business. The room was excellent for a bed and breakfast and it exceeded my expectation. It does however appear that only the top floor (of two) of the property has been renovated. As you came down the stairs the decor changed and was more classic B&B. I stayed in room 8 which was... more

After receiving a warm welcome from the owner I was shown to my room - perfectly adequate for my overnight stay. Some nice touches to the hotel - free wireless internet access, which was great, and a fantastic little breakfast room that had 24hr access for guests to cook a quick snack from the items left for you. Bread, cheese,... more

This is rather a strange place to stay as you hardly ever see any staff - there was never anyone at reception for example. There is a self-service breakfast, which is pretty good, but you have to put your own dishes in the dishwasher! I had a single room, which was not large but by no means the smallest I've... more

My stay here was heavily influenced by the location of my room - to the right of the front door and a few feet from the Reception desk. The noise was bad both late and early, so I was forced to find an alternative (The Carlton Hotel just up the road) on the last night in order to get some... more
