3 of us only had the main course as short on time. Staff on entry were extremely friendly. Got our drinks order in quickly. 2 ordered seabass which was beautifully cooked I has roast beef. 2 v large slices took one home as soon as much as veg were delicious and roast potatoes were crisp and just right size of Yorkshire pudding. Also my gravy was very tasty. All in all a hit Only fault for me I like my meat more medium but hard to do when cooking a large joint. Again staff checked on us a couple of times which was appreciated. Definitely be back

I stayed by myself for business. The staff were friendly and the room was spacious, quiet and comfortable, the food in the restaurant was really good and the breakfast options were better than what you often find at hotels. I would stay here again

Absolutely a kip and definitely not worth the money. Technically this place should be closed to paying customers. Very old and run down, Room untidy food was horrible no one behind the bar half the night. A handful of people including staff all sitting around watching emmerdale. Over priced including drinks and food. No atmosphere or welcoming feeling. Ideal for a hostel

Beautiful quiet hotel. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. Barfood was exceptional, piping hot and loads of it. Room was very cosy with a comfortable bed. The only downside is there Internet is practically non existant.

A comfortable and pleasant stay at the Mourne Country Hotel. I don’t think the ‘Country’ tag is particularly accurate, but the food was delicious, the aGuiness was cold, the service was always polite and friendly, it’s well connected for local roads and I’d certainly come back if I was in Newry again.

There are two great reasons to stay in this hotel. One, it has to be one of the cleanest hotels we’ve stayed in (including both 4 and 5 star properties ) and two, the staff are so friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. The bar food is of good quality and well presented. We sampled fish and chips, chicken goujons, chicken breast burger with mozzarella and a beef and Brie burger. The breakfast was excellent with the traditional Irish breakfast but also Eggs Benedict and French toast. The cereals etc. are buffet style but the breakfast, I’m pleased to say , is ordered at the table. The rooms are exceptionally clean and the decor is in good condition. The bathroom was small but had a full-sized bath, the only criticism we would make is that it would benefit from an update to include a better shower, and the water was never more the “warm “during our stay so it was a bit difficult to have a “hot” bath . Now, this next it will apply to a very small number of guests. We were visiting on a large fully loaded motorbike and the hotel exit is steep leading on to a very busy road making it a very difficult manoeuvre - not for an inexperienced rider. All-in-all a lovely hotel o use as a base for exploring the Mournes.

We had a really wonderful stay here last weekend. We found the location fantastic and accessible to where our course was the next morning. This price and value for money was fantastic. Now, down to our experience. We were checked in (and out) by a wonderful friendly lady on Reception. We got an upgraded room as there weren't any twins left. The room was beautiful, spotlessly clean and so spacious. Bathroom was pristine. We were so pleased. It was quiet and we got a fantastic night's sleep and the beds were so comfortable. The young man serving food and drink in the bar that evening was wonderful and polite. The breakfast was 5 star with a huge selection!!!! We ordered French toast, and it arrived to a standard I've never seen before. With crispy bacon, maple syrup, and strawberries. The buffet was wonderful too. The team that were working that morning, were an absolute credit to the hotel and management. All so genuinely good spirited and getting on so well together.. which is hard to ask for at 8am... but they were all lovely. We bought a lovely bracelet upon checkout too. We would recommend this hotel to everyone and we will definitely stay again. Prices for food were very reasonable and on par with what we d expect. Our evening meal, steak, was delicious and cooked perfectly. Compliments to the chef. The bar was lovely, it had no music on this occasion, but this was nice as all the guests were talking to each other. Everyone was so friendly and chatty. Thank you to all the team for a wonderful stay.

I have to say that this was one of the friendliest and most pleasant hotel stops I've had in a long time. My room was well prepared and comfortable, I was slightly concerned that it faced as a main road, but by early evening I was unaware of any traffic. I had an absolutely first rate bar meal in the evening and a tremendous breakfast the following morning. Everybody I encountered were very friendly and it was a pleasure to be here.

This was a nice hotel in an area which was not too busy, easily accessible from the main road. Parking was widely available and the property was clean and inviting. Rooms had reasonable and relatively modern décor. Wi-fi worked perfectly. The bathroom had plenty of supplies, towels, etc. and was in great condition. The shower was decent and basic with good water pressure. The sinks were a little strange with separate hot and cold water taps with auto-off valves, but this was a very minor issue. Breakfast was superb, with grab-and-go and cooked options both provided free for residents. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. In all, our visit was most enjoyable and we would gladly return.

The first room given to me had an issue which was sorted out swiftly with no fuss and I was moved to another room. The staff were helpful and courteous. Hotel was clean, quiet with a great breakfast. Would stay there again.
