It's a notch up from the Travelodges, though very similar. It's basic and budget, but our room had a HUGE flatscreen TV. My son really liked that a lot. The entire room was very clean and smartly decorated. The lady at reception, Julia was such a wonderful help to us. Breakfast was basic, but you could eat all that you... more

stayed here for 3 nights as a base for trips to Cambridge and Peterborough - it was virtually the cheapest I could find and was a bit worried about some of the older reviews but I needn't have worried. We didn't arrive til nearly midnight, later than expected, and in torrential rain. The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming. I... more

Read all the reviews agree with the good ones. Its a great value place and worth every penny spent on the room. Rooms were top notch clean and to a nice high standard. Reception staff were friendly and always willing to help. Read the description of location and amenities before moaning that there is nothing nearby to do or eat.... more

This place is small and off the beaten track, but it is quiet, basic and very good value. It does not have the same facilities as the nearest PremierInn, but it is £15 a night cheaper. There is no restaurant. There is a bar (that I have not yet used) and there is a full Freeview TV in every room... more

Exactly what it says on the tin; recently refurbished room was clean and comfortable, staff were friendly - and a great TV!! Breakfast could be more comprehensive and bar area more modern but it was all we needed. more

To say this motel is terrible, is to say Stalin was rather naughty, It is to say having cancer is to be under-the-weather. But, alas, i can think of no other word to express the experience that is The Redwings Lodge... so terrible it will have to be! The reception is somewhat like a Wendy House- it is where i... more

I think this review is totally unfair! - albeit amusing - but to put the record straight Redwings has had a number of changes in the last couple of years since the present owner took over. We are still a budget motel where two people can stay at weekends for £20 per person including continental breakfast - and we are...

We stayed at this hotel in early April and would have to disagree on the previous review. The hotel is very similar to a travelodge in size and looks actually, but personally i would choose this over a travelodge anyday. The rooms were very clean, looked almost freshly re-vampted actually (could smell new carpet - you know the smell!) and... more

The isolated location and lack of restaurant facilities, together with the fact that there is no proper reception area make this an impossibly insecure place for any woman travelling alone to stay. The entrance hall was not clean, there was dirty linen strewn on the stairs and the 'premier' bedroom that I was shown lacked any visible standards of hygiene.... more

This was a long time ago and the hotel has undergone a number of changes in that time. 18 of the 26 rooms and all of the 26 shower rooms have been completely refurbished. All rooms have 26" digital TVs and we now have WIFI. The laundry on the stairs was well before my time and all I can say...
