If you’re staying here as part of a walking holiday, then to get the most out of it, you’ll need to cross the river using the stepping stones in order to get to the farm. When we stayed the night, the river was too high and completely impossible to cross using the stones and we had to find Little Gate Farm using the road, which to be honest was a bit of a pain.
The farm itself looks like a typical small cottage complete with roses in the front garden. The one big difference between stopping here and at a typical B & B is that you really are staying in someone else’s house. The welcome is genuine if not a little abrupt, and the rooms do feel a bit like you are staying in someone else’s bedrooms. There are no en-suite facilities; everyone shares the same bathroom which is down the landing opposite the owner’s bedroom.
