We have visited and stayed at The George over many years, when Terry was the landlord. This changed about 4-5 years ago.The 'new' landlord is at the other end of the customer service spectrum, to the point wher we simply do not stay any more. We occassionally walk past on the way through, peer our head around the door into... more

Have just returned from our 20th odd visit to The George! It really does get better, a real country b&b/pub with a fabulous atmosphere and the most amazing steak and ale pie!!! The menu consists of a wide variety of homemade dishes, the majority of which we have tried, tested and can heartily recommend. Sat in the small cozy bar... more

This is an ideal stopover for those people doing the Dalesway Walk. The George Inn is set in a small Hamlet by a river where a stone bridge takes you over to the local church, a place where JB Priestley’s ashes are buried. There is also a farm directly opposite this pub where, depending on which room you stay in,... more
