Had a great time at the wedding, the landscape/views from the Red Lion are amazing and spending time on the terrace consuming the drinks on arrival was fantastic. The Wedding Buffet was good and the evening went really well. Our room was characteristic and in the house which was accessed from the bottom of the car park which was convenient... more

Didn't stay here - but visited for a meal on Thursday 8th Oct. When we arrived the barman said to take a seat and someone would take our order at 6pm. At 6.10pm I asked a passing waitress if we could order and was told to order at the bar! Have to say the meal was excellent but there seemed... more

I tried to book a double room but as there were none they offered a cottage with two bedrooms for £50 more which I thought was great making it £132. So I changed another booking to put both couples in the cottage. On arrival the Red Lion said it would now to more than double price as they always charged... more

A charming hotel in a superb location, perhaps it trades a bit too much on its reputation. An enjoyable and comfortable place to stay, it is expensive for what you get and could be resting on its laurels a bit. There is no real competition locally - perhaps some local competition could get it to raise its game a bit... more

We stayed here with a party of other guests for a wedding in mid June. This place is a real treat with great staff, wonderful food and the most beautiful setting with some simply stunning scenery. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this for a getaway or just an excellent meal. Not to be missed! more

Stayed for saturday night in a superior room with a huge comfy bed. The room was comfortable - not huge- but remember this is an old building and they have retained all the character. The bathroom was lovely with malton brown goodies. The room had tea and proper caftiere coffee making facilities. The staff are mainly bulgarian but are really... more

My Husband and I stayed in this hotel the weekend 09/11/2008. The hotel itself was lovely...warm, cozy, just how you would expect it to be. The rooms are well kept and stocked well with toiletries and plenty of coffee and fresh milk is available. The surrounding area is stunning and the views amazing. The hotel staff were very friendly and... more
