Stayed here for 1 night on a visit to the Dales. It's clearly modelled on the 'boutique' template - striking colours, bold prints, flat screen tvs etc. Unfortunately the interior designer must surely have been both colour and texture blind. Our room was an assualt on the eyeballs - lime green hospital walls clashing with purple and a variety of... more

Having decided upon this place for a one night getaway for my Girlfriends birthday, I was pleasantly surprised that the pictures accurately reflected the reality. Even though it is on the opposite side to the station, it still felt far enough away as an escapism, due to the gorgeous canal view that I have always been drawn towards. The king... more

We have just returned from 1 night at Herriots Hotel in Skipton - what a great place to stay. There are many options for accommodation in Skipton and I would definitely say this is the best option. It is far nicer and friendlier than the other large hotel in Skipton claiming to be Skiptons premier place to stay! The hotel... more

Stayed for three nights end of September. Location great for exploring lovely Skipton and surrounding area. Straight out of hotel onto lovely canal path for 5 minute stroll into town and opposite station-perfect for the Settle -Carlisle line which is a must! So onto the hotel. Shown to the extraordinary four-poster room at front overlooking road-whole room black and pink... more

We stayed a weekend in this hotel. The food was very good, "ginormous" breakfast the staff were nice and friendly and the rooms are comfortable recently been refurbished, Our room was on the second floor,no lift, as it is a listed building and I got the impression that the refurbishment in this room may have been rushed, no matter we... more

I stayed only one night having booked three; I found the hotel to be trying to be something it clearly is not. The superior double room was dark, airless and uninspiring. The bathroom was ridiculously small in comparison to the bedroom size. Impossible to go to the loo without maneuvering around the door and shower. The rear bedrooms do not... more

We stayed here on a last minute booking in early August. Unfortunately we had been informed of a double booking at another hotel in Skipton five minutes before leaving home, rang the tourist information and were given the no for Herriotts, rang and explained and were lucky enough to get the last room. The staff very kindly explained that there... more

This hotel has got to be one of the best I have stayed in, while visiting Skipton. Julie the head receptionist was very helpful with everything we needed. After dining in Rhubarb the hotels restaurant I could hardly move the food was one of the best meals ever! Compliments to the chef!! Portions are over whelming and delicious, we definitely... more
